John Raymond Henry (1943–2022) was an American sculptor internationally renowned for his large-scale steel structures. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and became known for creating bold, geometric sculptures using industrial materials. His works, installed in public spaces and museums across the United States, Europe, and Asia, visually capture spatial tension and energy through the interplay of steel lines and planes. From 1978 to 1980, Henry co-founded ConStruct, an artist-led gallery, and contributed significantly to contemporary sculpture through various large-scale projects.
