작업 과정에서도 그의 철학은 드러난다. 돌가루와 아교를 섞어 젤 상태의 판을 만들고, 그 위에 입체적인 부조를 쌓아가는 과정은 모든 재료를 직접 경험한 후 터득한 자신만의 기술로 완성된다. 이후, 이 입체감을 지속적으로 갈아내 평면성으로 환원하는 과정은 단순화된 형태 속에서 삶의 진정성을 찾고자 하는 작가의 태도를 반영한다. 

Bae Sam Sik’s abstract works are composed of clean, square forms stripped of unnecessary detail. Even within layers of diverse variations, the overall composition is unified by a monochromatic color scheme, enhancing visual focus. The empty spaces created through bold omissions give rise to highly modern structures, enriched by a distinctively Korean color palette. 

The square motif in his work carries multiple meanings. It symbolizes orderly abundance where diverse values converge, serves as a metaphor for rest and healing in the contemporary era, or reflects the underlying sentiment of modern networks—cooperation and coexistence within a vast web of interconnected systems. 

His creative process further embodies his artistic philosophy. Bae mixes stone powder with glue to form gelatinous panels, upon which he builds low-relief sculptures. Through a method honed from personal experimentation and hands-on experience with various materials, he continuously refines the surface, reducing the three-dimensionality to a simplified flatness. This process reflects his pursuit of sincerity in life, capturing authenticity through minimal forms.
